Abstract:
Grave finds are among the most important and conservative categories of archaeological materials, and their research reveals important ethnic and cultural aspects of communities inhabiting a particular territory. The archaeological data on the late medieval jewels used for the study are derived from the various necropolises, dating back to the period between 15th and 17th centuries. Here I analyze and compare the adornment objects from the necropolis explored by archeology methods. They are the best closed environment, which helps for the proper dating of the objects and the written sources, dating back to the late Middle Ages (15th century – early 18th century).
Keywords:
Late Middle Ages, Ottoman Empire, necropolises, adornments, sources, travellers.
