Abstract:
The legitimately guaranteed national unity in the 1870s, after the Russian- Turkish war of 1877–1878, the Bulgarian Exarchate was in crisis. According to international treaties of San Stefano and Berlin of 1878 the Exarchate’s diocese was separated into several parts. Since the Exarchate was the result of a national movement, it was religious in form and had a political manner. So it became a national matter to save its unity as a part of the national one.
