Abstract:
The main problem addressed by economic anthropology is technical, technological and organizational availability. The study of this question clarifies those features of the economic model that influence the political, social and cultural structure of any society. The article traces how the various hunter-gatherer communities, horticulturists, nomads, and farmers create, procure, or exchange their tools and equipment. The relationship between the technical development of the instruments and their practical use is examined. The levels of technical, technological knowledge and skills of people from nonindustrial and industrial societies are compared.
