Abstract:

The article contains factual details about the scientific activities of the first Bulgarian female doctor, related to research into and treatment of psychiatric disorders in Europe. Dr. Golovina’s activities started with her intense clinical practice as a general practitioner. The profound knowledge that she had gained in Paris made it possible for her to start treating psychiatric disorders, which set a precedent in European medical practice.
