Abstract:
The paper discusses the activities of Dr. Ivan Parlapanov, who studied at the University of Leipzig, where he defended his doctoral dissertation and from 1904 until the end of his life he lived and worked in Leipzig. He is engaged in trading of books, textbooks and teaching materials and accessories and develops book publishing and newspaper activities. He establishes contacts with a number of prominent public figures, politicians, scientists, writers and poets both in Germany and in Bulgaria. He made a significant contribution to the development of the Bulgarian-German economic, cultural and scientific relations during the first three decades of the twentieth century.
