Abstract:

In this study the object of description, dating, identification and classification is the autonomous coinage of the city of Kopsis (now Sopot) from the end of the 14th century. The author pays special attention to two types of one-sided coins (bracteates) for which he presents evidence that autonomous editions of the city of Kopsis from the end of the 14th century based on comparisons with their contemporary coins from regular royal and imitative issues. Until now, some of these coins were unknown to numismatics, especially the Monogram type, whereas the Golgotha type was wrongly identified as a royal issue.
