Abstract:

The author’s opinion as stated in the article is that the images of wandering wombs on the amulets known from the Middle Byzantine period and worn mainly by women to protect them from miscarriage were used in 1877 by the artisan as models for creating the carved ceiling of a house in Gotse Delchev.
