Abstract:
The paper examines one of the most popular topics in the Bulgarian novel over the last 20 years – the past of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria. The text also traces the decades that writers prefer to choose as the background of their plot, and discusses what is the value of the historical period and how authors “return” to it – through the autobiographical or by choosing a specific historical event.
