Abstract:

The article deals with the state of research in the field of gender inequality in Bulgaria. The approach is intersectional. In recent years, in the humanities and social sciences, the so-called intersectional method of researching gender, not only in sports but in every life situation. The intersectional approach examines not only the male-female gender ratio, but also factors such as age, sexuality, ethnic and religious affiliation, and social status. An intersectional approach suggests that discrimination can be not only at the level of gender but also in terms of age, appearance, ethnicity, or sexuality, so research in this area needs to be more comprehensive.
