Abstract:

In the monograph a comprehensive conceptual and technological model of religious education in the secular universities is developed. The educational model is implemented through a set of educational technologies. A new methodology of teaching religion in secular universities, which focuses on knowledge for religion (but not of religion) and is based on the principle of tolerance, is shaped. In the educational model could be be outlined a few highlights. Above all, a priority is given to innovative methods that contribute to the formation of competent and information literate professionals. Methods such as lectures of guest experts, didactic tasks, role plays, simulations, field work, practical training and project work have been developed. Second, an emphasis is placed on non-confessional teaching of religion, giving students a rational view on religious issues. Third, the accent is put on the practical orientation of training. Fourth, it is empirically approbated and can be adapted in other universities and in different conditions. Finally, the principle of learning with pleasure and entertainment, especially suitable for the training of the modern generation of young people, is covered.
