Abstract:
This article examines examples of linguistic interference in the speech of children and adults learning Bulgarian as a second language in a German-speaking environment. It analyses examples of interference errors at different linguistic levels: phonetic, grammatical, lexical and syntactic, caused by the influence of the first (German) language. An attempt is made to predict some possible errors on the basis of a comparative analysis of some linguistic features in the two languages.
Keywords:
linguistic interference, Bulgarian as a second language, first language influence, error prediction.
