Gastronomic Traditions of Bulgarians and Slovaks and its Expression in Bulgarian and Slovak Phraseology

Abstract:

The article presents some Bulgarian and Slovak phraseological units, partly proverbs, which components mean food and meals, typical of Bulgarian and Slovak cuisine. Conclusions are drawn about some peculiarities of Bulgarian and Slovak gastronomic tradition (besides food and types of meals, also habits and rituals) reflected in phraseology and about some features of Bulgarian and Slovak worldview. How these phraseological units and proverbs take part in linguistic world picture (conceptualizing the world and man) is also discussed.
