Abstract:
The centre of attention of contemporary phonetics is the language in use (everyday speech). Specifying and analyzing the actual phonetic process is the foundation of defining the dynamics of the system and the usage of norms, which are considered in codification. The paper analyzes the quantitative changes of the vowels in the Ankara’s variant of the Turkish literary speech norm.
