Abstract:
Turkish and Bulgarian people have been sharing the common geography defined through the history for centuries, and later the governments of those two countries started their neighborhood period. This situation always kept the people of these two countries curiosity alive to each other. Communities have the opportunity to learn more about others’ cultures through the translations of the related texts. Turkish people as well were introduced to literature of Bulgaria including lots of Bulgarian writers and their works through literary translations which provide great information about Bulgarian culture. In this paper, which texts from Bulgarian literature, how, why and by whom were translated in Turkey will be examined. At the same time, the question of how and in what way those translations influenced Turkish people will be questioned.
