Abstract:
We can see that there was a revival of cultural relationships between Turkey and Bulgaria during 1930’s. Many intellectuals, writers, journalists, teachers etc. were visiting the neighbouring country and sharing their impressions with the society by memoirs or travel notes. We can count as an example the visit to Sofia in 1932 of the chief inspector of the Ministry of Education Selim Sýrrý Tarcan (1874–1957), one of the founders of the Turkish Olympic Activity. He published the impressions of Turkish intellectuals in Cumhuriyet Journal, and he helped the Turkish readers to come to know better the Bulgarians and their lifestyles.
