Abstract:
In religious societies there is a high correlation between secular and spiritual authority, very often marked with a sign of identity. Family and family life make the basis of religious life and religious morals in religious type of societies. Faith has become the main subject of talks everywhere on every occasion and everyday life is governed by rules of faith. Ethnic Bulgarians in Serbia have accepted certain rules of religious morals of the Serbs and follow them until this day probably because they are few in number but also because they share the same Christian values. Bulgarian families in Serbia celebrate Slava (family feast or the patron saint’s feast day), which is a unique feature of the Serbs, but not of their Bulgarian ancestors.
