Abstract:

The phraseological units in each language represent a significant part of its treasury. Turkish, in these terms does not make an exception. As time passes by, some changes probably occur in terms of frequency of usage of phraseological units, or in their form, or even at the level of dropping out or emerging. Taking into consideration three of the novels of the Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk (My Name Is Red, The White Castle, The Black Book), which had been translated in Bulgarian, we are to trace which of the phraseological units, containing a numeral, had the author used, as well as if he had shown any preference or tendency when using this type of phraseological units in each of his novels depicting a different historical period.

Keywords:

phraseological units, number, Orhan Pamuk`s novels
