Abstract:
The article aims to highlight the specificity of the Romanian politeness/formal pronominal system compared to the Bulgarian one. In addition to the contrastive presentation of the two categories, the paper also explores the various possibilities of equivalence of the Romanian politeness pronouns into Bulgarian, given that the Bulgarian system is far from being as complex as the Romanian one. The present analysis can be helpful for the translation practice.
