Abstract:
The present paper is focused on the investigation of the Balkan phraseological corpus and it is an attempt to present the latest formulations and methods that are successfully applied in recent years in the analysis of phraseological semantics. The chosen approach is determined by a number of authors as a cognitive-culturological and it reflects the recognized necessity interweaving of cognitive theories and linguo-cuturological ideas in the study of figurative language. The targeting this line of analysis is the basis of studies of the Moscow Semantic School. The research discusses a part of the ideas of Russian and Bulgarian researchers about the inner form and motivation as a part of the cognitive structure of the phraseological unit and some conclusions based on Bulgarian and Romanian language material to be drawn.
