Abstract:
People, living in particular territory with definite borders in an exact moment form a community, which is determined as population. For many sciences this is an important term. Events connected with population have always been significant from the past until nowadays. Moreover, the problems connected with population and the finding of solutions to them, as well as the changes that took place during their historical development lead to different researches, suitable policies are made according to the situations and the needed measures have been taken and are taken. In a country it is important to know about its population, the number of men and women, their distribution in age groups, average life expectancy and the educational status in all age groups. Their analysis in some extent shows the socio-economic condition in the country and can be a precondition for different changes. In this context the number and structures of the population of the Republic of Turkey will be examined.
