Abstract:

In the 21st century, tourism is a leading economy, and terrorism is the leading threat. There is nothing accidental in the relationship between the two. Globalization and technological innovation – have led both to the growth of tourism as an industry and to the growth of terrorism as a threat. The media serve both for forecasting and for manipulating beliefs and perceptions – media persuasion serves both for tourism marketing and for terrorism, the achievement of economic profit in the first case and the demoralization of the enemy / flow of funds and tenants in the second. Strangely, but terrorist sites can attract visitors and become a source of so-called “dark / dark / hiking.” Despite the negative effects on tourism, the industry is surprisingly adaptable. The fact is that a tourist destination that provides a high level of safety and security for tourists can turn it into a competitive advantage over other tourists and thus attract more solvent tourists, tourists with cultural interests, various hobbies, which means that it will improve its financial – economic performance and, hence, the prosperity of its citizens.
