Abstract:

The study determines that the margin, i.e. the share of beekeeping holdings in the final price is constantly decreasing due to the increasing competitiveness of the other participants in the distribution channels, as well as the increased consumer demands. Moreover, the competitiveness, respectively the monopoly power of wholesalers and retailers, has an impact on the margin. The “7 C” methodology is appropriate for the analysis and evaluation of the possible alternatives from distribution channels for the sale of apiculture products. Beekeeping farms in the district of Rousse have difficulties in setting up their own organizational and consumer channels because of the low degree of regional integration. For this reason, they cannot gain indirect and direct access to international markets. The underdeveloped agromarkets, respectively distribution channels, limit their alternatives for realization, which is why they have to comply with the existing monopoly power network. In perspective, regional integration and investment in own channels are needed.
