Abstract:

Globalization, democratization and internationalization are some of the most important processes in the late 20th and early 21st century. They raised topical issues related to the competitiveness of countries in general and individual regions in particular. The entry of new information technologies allows economic entities to participate in global competitive processes without crossing state borders. Regardless of the distances, the information and transport opportunities have made even the most remote areas accessible to people and businesses. All this has led to the growth of the competitive start of the world economy and the economy of individual regions. This increased the importance of self-government and the role of regions in the development of national economies.
