Abstract:
The growing global coronavirus pandemic is having a very serious impact on many sectors of the economy. The most significant consequences are in tourism, transport and services. Tourism is an important sector for most European countries and contributes to their economic development and progress, accounting for an average of about 11% of countries‘ GDP. Precisely because of its essential role in the economic life of individual countries, it is important to monitor the state of the sector and to propose a set of measures to deal with the complex situation in the industry. The current study outlines the state of tourism in Bulgaria and outlines concrete steps to overcome the crisis.
