Abstract:

A leading European and national goal in the post-COVID-19 era consisted in rediscovering the nearest cultural tourism destinations as well as ensuring the recovery / revitalization of local economies and communities by returning to cultural heritage as a resource for cultural tourism. This paper outlines, in the first place, some of the post-crisis issues in the sector, and offers possible ideas and solutions to restore and promote cultural tourism. In the second place, the text analyses specific examples of how novel ideas / initiatives, good practices, information campaigns, etc., can support cultural heritage as a resource for cultural tourism.
