Abstract:

In the tour guiding practice, the initial perception of tourist sites and assimilating the knowledge about them are most accessible when done through a visit to the place and observing it in person, directly in its natural environment (nature, farm, village, etc.). Apart from the natural tourist sites, tour guides use other information means in their work. The methodical means in tour guiding are constantly improved and perfected, which requires good knowledge of their specifics. In the last few years, besides the traditional means, such as tour guiding signs, sound (audio) technology, a microphone on the bus, the well-known projector and video recorder, the following ones have also received widespread application: computer, audio-visual multimedia systems on the bus, the tour guide system, etc. Among the contemporary methods of the tour guiding presentation, the communicative, visual, technological, audio and audio-visual means are marked as methodical information means. This theoretical study makes a classification of the types of methodical means used in the tour guide’s work. Knowing the classification of these means provides extremely wide opportunities for realizing a creative tour guiding practice. They provoke revolutionary transformations and model the image of the modern tour guide.
