Abstract:

Business processes are the basis for the organization’s functioning, and the products and services offered result from these processes. Maintaining market competition requires companies to continuously improve their processes, with a strong customer orientation, and create a flexible organisational structure that allows high adaptability to market changes. Process improvement requires companies to analyses and identify activities that do not add value to production/service delivery processes and to limit them. In addition, companies must introduce new work methods in production processes, customer service, etc., and quickly adopt various innovations in procedures, techniques, and technologies. The LEAN methodology is a proven process improvement technology the Toyota company uses. It is associated with the evolutionary replacement of conventional mass production methods with the aim of high efficiency and quality, increasing productivity, and reducing production costs. The benefits of implementing the LEAN methodology are that it improves productivity, reduces production costs, increases customer satisfaction, and increases profits for the company.
