Abstract:
In the article the reflexes of Indo-European stÂ- : *st°-, *stå- : *stî- are examined. The author proposes new etymology for the Latin custos, custÛdià and some Sanskrit and Slavonic typological parallels for the Greek theonym Äßá Óôïäìçí{í as well. The origin and history of Slavonic cultural term ñòîäîëà (in connection with the Sanskrit sthaûñila) were defined more precisely.
