Abstract:

The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the study of socially determined onyms in opposition to codified onyms allows for the more profound knowledge of the acts of unofficial onymic nomination. It also shows the results of linguistic creativity of people through their cognitive activities in as much as the mechanism of anthropocentrism underlies the derivation of proper names. In other words, for the appearance of slang onyms there are social and psychological motives which express subjective assessment.
