Abstract:
The article is connected to the issue of verb aspect and related to it notions which led to the appearance of a more recent section of grammar — aspectology. On the basis of materials from Russian and Kazakh we came to the conclusion that aspect as a grammatical category is typical of the Slavic group of languages while the Kazakh language makes use of a totally different system of grammatical means to convey the same meanings.
