Женското лично име Енгелсина в българската антропонимия

Abstract:

This paper examined the female personal name Engelsina which occurs only twice in Bulgarian anthroponomastic. As to the first owner, the motivation of the naming is the family name of Friedrich Engels. In the second case the name is derived from the name of Ena – godmother of her parents. Engelsina name was registered only in „Честотно-етимологичен речник на личните имена в съвременната българска антропонимия” of Nikolai Kovachev (1995). It is a rare type of commemorative name, in which family name (usually of historical person) is held in the position of a personal name.
