Abstract:

In the present scientific article it is presented the title kyrios and its equivalents as a God’s designation in the hellenistisch Roman background of the Christianity and it is explained the kyrios meaning and etymology. It is asked for it origin and it is examined whether kyrios is rooted in the atl. Judaic tradition or in the cultural-religious and linguistic sphere of the originating Christianity. In the New Testament this title is related specifically to Jesus Christ and at some places to God. In that way it encloses a typical Christian interpretation and new reclassification. In the text it is ascertained the meaning and the use of these titles concerning other divinities in Egypt, Asia Minor and in the close east in literary springs and archaeological monuments in the time of Jesus Christ, after the context and in the connections in which they are used. The use from êýñéïò is considered in Septuaginta, in alttestamentlichen Apocrypha and in the Judaic scholars writings. Then the present scientific theories for the origin of the title kyrios are listed and the arguments are introduced for and against. In the end the author shows her own position and in addition gives prooved places from the New Testament for the use of kyrios in the Christianity and its hellenistisch Roman background.
