Abstract:
John Chrysostom’s homilies, united under the heading “Against the Jews”, were delivered in Antioch in the second half of the 4th century. In the 14th century, six of them were translated into Bulgarian as part of the collection of Chrysostom’s homilies and sermons called “Margarit.” This study focuses on the quotations from the Apostle liturgical book registered in the translation of John Chrysostom’s anti-Judaic homilies. The lexical differences between the quotations in the homilies and some manuscripts representing the different versions of the text of Apostle are examined. Conclusions are made regarding the proximity of the quotations in the homilies to any of the versions, and some individual decisions of the translator are indicated.
