The Unique Vocational Schools in Plovdiv: Past and Present

Abstract:

This paper presents the concept of an ongoing pedagogical study, the goals of which are to determine and categorize the one-of-a-kind vocational schools in Plovdiv, and to explore their history and current state. Through analysis of the official websites of the schools in the city, which have been identified as unique, it has been established that each of them – Dobrin Petkov National School of Music and Dance Arts, Tsanko Lavrenov National High School of Arts, and the National High School of Performing and Screen Arts – has a remarkable history. Their present is no less impressive – the management boards of these schools have focused their efforts on preserving the traditions in preparing students for specific professions, while striving to develop and raise their prestige.
