Abstract:

The article is focused on the external trends of family education and their influence on the child’s development. The empirical research conducted, which covered 280 parents, shows that the authoritative style of family upbringing prevails in Bulgaria. The paper represents the child-encouraging ways that most couples choose. Emphasis is placed on traditions and free time, taking into account the liberalization of family relationships and the changing approach to decision-making. Despite the fact that the liberal style of family upbringing is globally recognized, in Bulgaria there are relatively few parents applying this style.
