Abstract:
The study presents and briefly analyzes the basic concepts related to the intercultural aspects of foreign language teaching. It traces the most important theoretical approaches and the legal framework informing the introduction and application of the intercultural approach in the study of foreign languages. The concept 51 of culture is briefly examined within the context of foreign language learning. The study encompasses the fundamental concepts related to the development of intercultural competencies, the role of the educator, and the underlying methodological approaches that underpin this type of education. Methods for developing autonomy, the activity approach in training, and the role of interaction and conflict-solving within the learning process are also covered. The paper lists several activities for developing intercultural competence.
