Abstract:
The report examines the content of the concept of physical activity within the scope of the World Health Organization (WHO) definition and the recommendations the latter makes regarding physical activity and sedentary lifestyle among preschool children. The characteristics and benefits of daily physical activity are also explored. A theoretical analysis of the factors influencing the physical activity of preschool children is conducted and three groups are differentiated: physical, socio-economic, and environmental factors. Physical factors (obesity, immobility, 77 chronic diseases, and disabilities) relate to the health status of the body. In the field of socio-economic factors, the influence of the family environment and the educational institution is examined. Environmental factors differentiate between urban and rural environments. Preschool age is the time when basic motor skills are learned. Therefore, their improper formation could lead to reduced physical fitness, muscle weakness, lack of bone strengthening, a weak immune system, and reduced self-esteem. It is an established fact that to achieve optimal health in children, physical activity should be adequately present in their daily routine, both at kindergarten and outside of it.
