Abstract:
This article offers an in-depth comparative analysis of Bulgarian and international approaches to the relationship between fine motor skills and intellectual development in early childhood. The emphasis is placed on the similarities and differences in theoretical statements, methodological solutions and practical applications in the educational environment. Both traditional pedagogical views and modern interdisciplinary research are considered, which emphasize the importance of motor activity for the overall development of the child. The theoretical framework of the study is based on modern pedagogical, psychological and neuroscientific concepts that consider motor activity as a key factor in cognitive development. Particular attention is paid to the interrelationship between the development of fine hand movements, speech development, attention, memory and the formation of mental operations. Empirical data are analyzed, proving that systematic stimulation of fine motor skills in preschool age supports the development of neural connections related to 84 learning and adaptation. In conclusion, the need to integrate purposeful motor activities into educational programs is emphasized as a means of supporting the intellectual potential of children
