Abstract:

The Congress of Vienna occupies a crucial place in the history of diplomacy and international relations. After the abdication of Napoleon I from the French throne representatives of all sovereign European countries gather in Vienna to regulate, imposed by the ideas of the French Revolution and the victories of the French emperor, changes in Europe. One of the most important and controversial problems is related to the establishment of the German Confederation, which has to replace, Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation which was disbanded by the French emperor. On this issue during the Congress of Vienna collide the interests of the two major German states, of the neighboring great powers and other German states- often called “the Third Germany”. The compromise between them “gave birth” to a fragile political-state formation and converts “the German question” to an international issue.
