Abstract:
The research follows several thematic directions in straight relation to the concept of the increasing personal and social significance of contemporary geographic knowledge. The accents are grounded on the “intersection points” between geography and history in relation to the formation of key interdisciplinary competencies on the level of school teaching; value relativism and the unacquired potential of geography; the geographic explanatory framework of the basic human values (place, space, natural environment, sustainability, interrelation, identity) and their projection regarding the contemporary interpretation of the concept of “geographic education”.
