Claims and Reality in Rambouillet

Abstract:

In the cruelest phase of the conflict in Kosovo, the international community has implemented various methods, aimed ending armed actions and moving to a search for a solution through negotiations, establishing contacts between opposing leaders. At the beginning of 1998, the situation in Kosovo intensified and the events there got into the agenda of international politics. At that time, the international community did not have a common position on the degree of interference. The US is on the opinion that military intervention is urgent, while EU is on resolving the crisis through negotiations. On February 6, 1999, delegations from Serbia and Kosovo met in the French castle Rambouillet, near Paris. After the collapse of negotiations, United States and NATO are ready for criminal action over Yugoslavia, as guilty for the failure of negotiations. The countries until last hope for a peaceful decision of the conflict, but was it even possible?
