Abstract:
Nevena Popova is one of the scholars who have made a significant contribution to the development of methodological ideas for history teaching, which became established in the 1960s. As a professional methodologist who introduced the theory and methods of historical knowledge as early as the late 1940s, she bequeathed her rich collection of noteworthy materials to the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Based on the review of part of this heritage in the summer of 2019, this text discusses Nevena Popova’s methodological views on the role of historical sources in teaching history.
