Abstract:

In the process of studying the quality of geography education and the possibilities for its management, emphasis is placed on satisfaction as a personal feeling. The very definition of quality implicitly contains a feeling of satisfaction. Considered from this perspective, quality is the difference between what is received and what is expected in the learning process. In order to report personal satisfaction, particularly the satisfaction of the participants in the Geography and Economics education process in the Varna Region, an approved methodology for quality measurement has been developed and tested through the nonconformity model (GAPS). It is applied as a framework for effective management of the quality of geography teaching. It allows us to operationalize the Geography and Economics education process, and to identify problem areas or factors for the occurrence of lower quality. Satisfaction as one of the areas of nonconformity in the GAPS model is measured by applying the SERVQUAL model. This model is precisely applicable to measure and evaluate the main area of nonconformity with the different ‘quality’ perspectives and expectations of the user of an education service.
