Abstract:

Jewellery and glyptics are among the crafts, which were practiced in the vicinity of legionary camps in the 2nd–3rd centuries. It is attested only by indirect data – a huge quantity of finds with similar style of workmanship, which were discovered during archaeological excavations. Jewels made of different metals (mostly ores) and of precious stones (gemstones and cameos) are product of these crafts.
