Abstract:
The idea of the restoration of the Bulgarian state was realized in two ways. The one clearly stood out, thanks to the military successes of the Bulgarians. The other way was the spiritual and cultural growth of the Bulgarian state as a significant literary center in the Orthodox world. The beginning was undoubtedly initiated by Patriarch Joachim I, who showed himself to be a “good spiritual guide” of his flock.
