Abstract:

In the immediate aftermath of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917, parts of the army loyal to the monarchy began an armed resistance against the self-styled „power of the Soviets“. In the Civil War that began, which lasted until 1920, parts of the counter-revolutionary army remained in history with the collective name „White Guards“. After their defeat, the Russian White Guards saved themselves by fleeing the rising communism. Thousands also come to Bulgaria, where they were accepted as refugees. Their fate is extremely interesting, their contribution is of great importance for the development of Bulgaria in the next few decades.
