Abstract:

The most common way of studying the state includes the well-known historical positivistic methodology. In other words, the scholars follow the algorithm determination of causes, revealing facts, and determination of results. This article is trying to combine at least two disciplines (history and sociology) in the author’s attempt to construct a new and complex way of studying not the state itself but the process called statehood. The statehood itself is described by symbols developed throughout time. It is exactly the symbols that impart shape to the state and create its historical forms of existence. The question is how we study, find, and determine the emergence of the symbols, how and when they shape the formal existence of the state. In general, this article tries to construct an algorithm to answer the question.
