Abstract:

The following article regards the military strategic plans that Austria- Hungary has in the eve and beginning period of the First World War. The whole military planning of the austrian-hungarian General headquarter is dependent and fatally committed with the german plan “Schlifen”. If the implementation of the german military program goes wrong, Wien would be bereaved from the opportunity to maneuver as it happens in the crucial 1917-1918. Austria-Hungary also accepts the scheme for war on two fronts, which occurs to be an impossible task. The dualistic monarchy’s armies not only cannot stop the Russian military forces of the Eastern front, but they also cannot accomplish the “military decision” against Serbia on their own. The accepted doctrine for the fast war also turns out to be wrong.
