Abstract:

The article dwells on the most recent publications on the life and reign of the last German Emperor. The author compares the biographies of Wilhelm II by the English professors John Roehl and Christopher Clark and points out their different conclusions on the character of his reign. The author also analyses the major contributions of the published dissertations and research by Alexander Kоеnig, Michael Obst, Benjamin Hasselhorn, Wolfgang Koenig, Holger Afflerbach Dominik Petzold, in which the authors discuss certain aspects of the German Emperor’s reign.
