The report examines surrounding environment of libraries in Bulgaria. Possibilities for better management through coordination of the elements of the marketing mix are considered. The goal is to reveal the possibilities of applying the holistic approach in the preparation of a marketing program and strategy. The subject of the development is the management of library services.

HRM is a multidisciplinary organizational function that uses theories and ideas from various fields such as scientific management, organizational psychology, sociology, philosophy and economics. A critical review of scientific publications from these areas is made, the opinions of different authors about the tendencies in the development of the HRM approaches are systematized, the characteristics and the influence of the factors from the business context are given. The term “business environment” is defined as a set of all elements that exist outside the formal boundaries of an organization and have an impact on it and its particular parts and functions. the human resource management function. Key factors influencing HRM are considered, taking into account the types of business context in which the organization operates. It is assumed that HRM is not only an organizational management function but also a transformation process and an open system that attracts, develops, motivates and retains the employees who ensure the effective functioning, survival and development of the organization and its members. Changes in the external environment have a profound impact on staff behavior and employability. The modern business environment requires corporate governance to change attitudes towards people. Leaders face new challenges – creating innovative management approaches in HRM and new business models. The author shares his experience as a result of direct observation and evaluation of the work of software companies and a leading Bulgarian mining company. After analyzing the business case studies, the benefits of applying LEAN and Conceptagon Strategic Management approaches have been outlined and described with an emphasis on HRM.
